Rotary Drum Screen

The VectraRDS operates by feeding wastewater into a rotating cylindrical drum fitted with a wedge wire or perforated surface. As the liquid flows through the screen slots, solids are trapped on the drum’s outer surface. Internally mounted spray nozzles or cleaning brushes continuously remove accumulated material, which is conveyed by an integrated screw or lifting system for discharge.

Model

VectraRDS Rotary Drum Screen
  • Design: Rotating cylindrical wedge wire drum with integrated conveyor
  • Slot Sizes: 0.25 mm to 3 mm (customizable)
  • Inclination Angle: Typically 35° to 45°
  • Construction: Entirely made of SS 304 / SS 316L
  • Optional Add-ons: Spray nozzles, compaction zone, fine screen variants

Use

Rotary Drum Screens are used for solid-liquid separation in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants. They are ideal for removing fine and coarse suspended solids from raw sewage, process water, and sludge — especially at inlet works, sludge dewatering units, or pump stations.

Description

The drum’s rotation ensures continuous cleaning, while the inclined position helps gravity-driven drainage and material movement. The screen is fully enclosed to prevent odor escape and splash-back.

Key Advantages

  • Continuous automatic screening with minimal operator intervention
  • High-efficiency separation of fine and coarse solids
  • Compact, enclosed design with integrated solids discharge
  • Low energy consumption and noise levels
  • Stainless steel build ensures corrosion resistance and long life
  • Modular design allows easy maintenance and retrofit into existing channels
