Multi Rake Bar Screens

The Multi Rake Bar Screen consists of a stationary bar screen installed at a 75° incline within a channel. As upstream effluent flows through the screen, solid particles larger than the bar gap are trapped.

Model

Multitech Defender Multi Rake Bar Screen
  • Bar Gap Size: 6 mm (minimum), customizable as per project needs
    Installation Angle: 75° incline
  • Rake Speed: 6–8 m/min
  • Material of Construction (MOC): All components in SS 304
  • Drive System: Chain-driven by flange-mounted gear motor
  • Design Feature: No submerged sprocket – lower guide design to reduce clogging and maintenance

Use

The Multi Rake Bar Screen is installed at the inlet of sewage and effluent treatment plants. It is used to screen out floating and suspended solids from municipal and industrial wastewater streams. It prevents downstream clogging and protects mechanical equipment in treatment processes.

Description

A series of rakes with teeth, driven by roller chains on either side, automatically clean the screen. These rakes lift debris up the screen to a discharge chute for collection. The chains are powered from the top by a motor and sprocket assembly; the bottom of the screen features a curved stainless-steel guide instead of a submerged sprocket, significantly reducing the risk of blockage and lowering maintenance demands. Moreover, the welded design allows easy maintenance as a single panel can be replaced/repaired rather than removing the entire equipment.

The screen operates automatically via a control panel and level sensor, activating based on flow levels in the channel.

Key Advantages:

  • Easy Maintenance/Repair
  • Efficient screening of solids at plant inlets
  • Fully automatic operation controlled by flow levels
  • No submerged sprocket reduces risk of jamming and cleaning frequency
  • High durability with SS 304 construction
  • Low maintenance design with stainless steel lower guide
  • Customizable gap sizes and rake speed for specific flow requirements
